Activity 8 _ Digital Ethics _ Image Manipulation in Advertising, Digital Ethics..

17 03 2008

1.      In the following picture some changes has been used such as the back ground of the picture, the hair became shinier and the color of lipstick.

2.      ‘What you see, what you get’ the image catch people’s attention to look at the product and at the same time you can see the result besides the image of product. Obviously the purpose of it, is to make people try the product.

3.      I don’t know we can call it ‘improved’ or some times exaggerated. How ever the changed makes the picture more interesting and in a positive way yes the image has improved.

4.      it could be any one from a man who wants to buy the product for his wife or girlfriend or children to makes mum happy, mostly the real target are women.

5.      I don’t like the image although the changed make the image more interesting however I am not sure about the color of lipstick.

6.      It gets the massage across and increase the costumers.

7.      Some of image manipulation is not real and they exaggerated to make the image more interesting but it became dishonesty advertising.

activity 7 – Digital Ethics

1. I do not believe the LA time’s photographer should have been fired for digitally manipulating the photos. I think his purpose of retouching the photograph is to make it more interesting and professional however there is no doubt that in the light of morality it is not acceptable. I do really disagree with the retouched photo on Iraq because it is a provocative picture shows an aggressive American soldier

Attacking the civilians, which would be used in poletics as propaganda.

2. I think it is important to know the only thing that makes a photo interesting is to show the truth no matter whether in fashion photographs or news photographs. Altering fashion photographs or news photographs both have unpleasant effect on people’s attitude; the viewer might get the wrong message.

3. Kate Winslett doesn’t like Photoshop because she believes it is not a real picture of her impression and she prefer to remain as real as she is.

The little bug which is the area of interest in this picture has been placed on the right side of the frame and the horizone is on the bottom horizontal line.
